CHRIS DICKSON in Tokio extended his lead to 10 miles over Lawrie Smith's Intrum Justitia in the Whitbread Round the World Race. Galicia, skippered by Javier de la Gandara, is two miles further behind. It was slow going for the rest of the 60-footers and only Grant Dalton's, in the Maxi New Zealand Endeavour, kept up with the leading group and is 24 miles behind Tokio. Pierre Fehlmann's Merit Cup is now 113 miles behind Dalton.
