IAIN MURRAY, Australia's America's Cup designer and skipper, won the first race of the Tag Heuer Etchells 22 World Championship in Brisbane. The defending champion, Dennis Conner, was eighth. The best of the seven British competitors was Adam Gosling, aided by David Howlett.
