NANCY KERRIGAN, the Olympic silver medallist, will not compete in the world figure skating championships in Tokyo this month. She will be replaced by Michelle Kwan, 13, who finished second to Tonya Harding at the US Nationals in January when Kerrigan was unable to compete after being clubbed on the knee. The Olympic pairs champions, Yekaterina Gordeyeva and Sergei Grinkov, of Russia, will also miss the world championships because they are set to return to the professional circuit.
