Sporting Digest: Skiing

THE funeral of Ulrike Maier, who was killed in a World Cup downhill race last Saturday, took place in her home town of Rauris, Austria, yesterday. The local church was packed and hundreds more listened in the square outside as around 5,000 local inhabitants came out to pay their last respects to the former world champion.
