Cassie Jackman, the England No 1 and world No 3, has withdrawn from the women's World Open Championship, which begins in Stuttgart tomorrow because of an ankle injury.

Derek Ryan, from Ireland, yesterday beat the Australian, Paul Price, in the final of the Pepsi International Championship in Lahore. The win pushed Ryan to a career-best 12th on the world ranking list.
