CANONS CLUB, the former champions, yesterday withdrew from the National League for the coming season because a pounds 3m refurbishment has left them with a shortage of courts until work is completed in December. To maintain a link with the league they have offered to join forces with Lambs as a London club. Lambs are considering the proposal which would bring back the world No 2 Chris Dittmar two years after he left them to join Canons.
