FINA, the international federation, has asked the International Olympic Committee to upgrade to gold the individual synchronised swimming silver medal won by Sylvie Frechette, of Canada, in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Fina have decided that there was a judging error, but that Kristen Baab-Sprague, of the United States, should not lose her gold medal. Their recommendation is that two gold medals should be issued.
