CARL PREAN, the English national champion, is hoping he has recovered sufficient fitness to earn a meeting with Sweden's defending champion, Jorgen Persson, in the men's singles at the world championships, starting in Gothenburg today. However, Prean has been suffering from a wrist injury, which kept his appearances for England in the team event to one match.
