Jana Novotna, the Wimbledon champion, will prepare for this year's Wimbledon by defending her Direct Line title at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne from 15-19 June.
Britain's Greg Rusedski has dropped three places to 13th in the latest world rankings, while his compatriot, Tim Henman, rose a place to sixth, his highest position. Carlos Moya, from Spain, has moved ahead of Pete Sampras to become the world No 1, despite losing in the final of the Newsweek Champions' Cup in California to Australia's Mark Philippoussis at the weekend.
