STEFFI GRAF, the world No 1, will not play in next month's Italian Open. Graf, who has not played in the clay court tournament for several years, wants to stay in Germany and compete in domestic events. Martina Navratilova, however, has been added to the list of entrants.

RICHARD KRAJICEK will lead the Netherlands in their Davis Cup world group quarter-final against the United States in July. Krajicek, who missed last month's first-round tie against Belgium, returned from a knee injury to win the Spanish Open title last week.
