GABRIELA SABATINI and Jana Novotna were beaten in the Toray Pan Pacific Open women's tournament in Tokyo yesterday. The third-seeded Argentinian lost 7-6, 7-5 to Marketa Kochta, of Germany, ranked No 82 in the world, while Novotna, from the Czech Republic, lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to Kristie Boogert, of the Netherlands.
