Colin Miller has resigned as manager of Hamilton Academical with immediate effect for personal reasons. He is returning to his native Canada and Ally Dawson has been named caretaker manager starting with today's game at Stirling Albion.

Georges Leekens was sacked as Belgium's coach yesterday after a run of poor friendly results ahead of next summer's European Championship finals. The former Standard Liege and Sporting Lisbon coach Robert Waseige had been invited to take over.

Channel 5 will screen both of next week's Champions' League qualifying ties involving British sides. Chelsea's visit to Latvian side Skonto Riga kicks off at 5.30pm, while the game between Rangers and Parma in Italy begins at 8pm.

Gary Poole, the 32-year-old Charlton Athletic right-back, has retired from playing because of injury.
