Sir: While I found your article (22 November) on the progress that women have made in horse racing interesting and informative, it was a shame that no mention was made of Mrs Rosemary Lomax's success in training Precipice Wood to win the Ascot Gold Cup in 1968. At the time it was the most prestigious victory achieved by a woman trainer and for it to have taken place at one of the real bastions of male chauvinism in horse racing made it even more noteworthy.
