Sports Letter: News break
Sir: The decline of News at Ten as a credible news programme cannot be doubted. In Thursday's bulletin (1 July) no mention was made of the third Test at Trent Bridge where some Englishmen and their friends were playing Australia. Are we to assume that, because of the team's poor results, cricket has been condemned by programmers to an occasional '. . . And finally. . .'? Or, in line with the growing obsession for the one-day game, have we also now entered the era of 'fast news' from
McDonald?
Yours faithfully,
