Sir: The recent announcement of Frank Dick's resignation as chief coach to the British Athletic Federation is extremely sad.
Having worked with him as a team doctor, I have always been impressed by the depth and extent of his knowledge and experience. While his rather eclectic attitude to medical treatment may be infuriating at times, his opinions are always based on thorough enquiry and research, an attitude characteristic of his approach to his job and one that often appears to be lacking in some elements of sports management.
I hope that some other sport's governing body in this country is quick to seize the opportunity to snap up the services of a coaching consultant of such international reputation.
Yours faithfully,
