Sir: In order to reassure Barbara Brown of Warrington whose letter appeared in the Independent, I am another avid Martin Johnson fan and have been for many years. His reporting first came to my notice during the Mike Gatting tour of Pakistan with all the excitements over Shakoor Rana's umpiring and I have attempted to read him ever since. I don't think there has ever been a more genuinely funny or witty cricket writer.
