Sir: I read with interest the letter written by Prof Snodgrass (24 February) concerning the condescending attitude towards the Irish rugby team in the English media. Let me, as an Irishman, assure the Professor that the thrill of winning was only accentuated by re-reading the remarks of these sages, who showered us with their baleful opinions in the lead-up to the game.
