Sports Listings: Monday / Cyclo-cross: Supacross, Macclesfield

Roger Hammond, the former world junior champion, is enjoying a successful season in only his second year as a senior rider. The VC Bad club amateur leads the National Trophy series from Steve Douce, the Reigate professional who won the trophy last year, with one race remaining. Hammond's record in the Spectus Systems Macclesfield Supacross is also impressive. Third in 1991, he won handsomely last year and on Monday renews his battle with Douce over the undulating but deceptive grassland course in South Park. The Raleigh professional team of David Baker, Barrie Clarke and Gary Coltman are also expected to contest this strength-sapping race.

How to get there: South Park, Macclesfield, Cheshire, is in the town centre; Vehicle access is restricted to the entrance via Poplar Road, off Park Lane. Juvenile race 11.45am, under-12s 12.30pm, mountain bikes 12.45, Supacross for seniors, juniors and veterans 2pm. Spectating is free. Refreshments available.
