Sports Listings: Sunday / Rallying: Network Q RAC Rally, Birmingham
With leading drivers, like the Finn, Juha Kankkunen, the Frenchmen, Francois Delecour and Didier Auriol, and Colin McRae, from Scotland, on show, the Network Q RAC Rally, from Sunday to Wednesday, will provide a demanding conclusion to the World Championship. On Sunday, the rally is designed to allow spectators to watch the cars at a number of stately homes and racing circuits in the Midlands and northern England with easy access, parking and facilities.
Where to watch: First leg: Start: 7.30am Centenary Square, Birmingham city centre. Special stage 1, 7.57am: Sutton Park (six miles north of Birmingham city centre). SS2, 8.45: Weston Park (seven miles east of Telford on A5). SS3, 10.30: Oulton Park racing circuit (five miles north-east of Tarporley, Cheshire, off A49). SS4, 11.29: Tatton Park (one mile north of Knutsford, Cheshire, on A50). SS5, 1.25pm: Chatsworth House (nine miles west of Chesterfield, Derbyshire). SS6, 2.45: Clumber Park (four miles south of Worksop). SS7/8, 4.30: Donington Park circuit (2 1/2 miles west of M1, near Castle Donington). Finish of leg, 7.50: Centenary Square, Birmingham. Apart from the start and finish, admission charges to all first-leg stages are pounds 6 adults, pounds 1 children under-16.
