The European Swimming Championships, which continue to 8 August, also encompass diving, synchronised swimming and water polo. These three events take up the first weekend. The synchronised swimming and diving are held at the Ponds Forge pool in Sheffield. The men's water polo is also in Sheffield at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre, while the women compete in Leeds at the International pool.
