The London International Boat Show, which runs until 17 January, is one the largest shows of its kind in the world. More than 600 exhibitors will show 800 craft and windsurfers. The latest electronic equipment, chandlery and traditional wooden boatbuilding are just part of the display. The Olympic-sized pool has been transformed into a regatta scene with marquees, pavilions and a yacht club. Visitors, irrespective of age, will be able to try out dinghy sailing, waterbikes and electric boats and watch displays of coracle sailing, folding boats and model yachts.

How to get there: Earls Court, Warwick Road, London SW5 is opposite Earls Court tube station (District/Piccadilly lines). 10am-7pm except for 14 January (10am-9.30pm). pounds 7.80 adults, two accompanied children under-16 admitted free, additional children/OAPs pounds 4.50.
