ENGLAND'S Peter Marshall and Simon Parke failed in their bid to reach the final of the Mahindra international challenge in Bombay yesterday.
Marshall, England's No 1, came close as he led the top-seeded Brett Martin by two games before finally losing 11-15, 12-15, 15-8, 15-13, 15-5.
Parke can take credit for taking the attack to Sami Elopuro of Finland before going down 15-9, 6-15, 15-11, 15-9. Apart from the second game, which he won brilliantly with a series of scorching winners, Parke was guilty of making too many errors as he tried to force the pace and the Finn was content to play steadily and wait for the mistakes.
