The Pittsburgh Steelers will beat the Green Bay Packers 24-20 at the 45th Super Bowl on Feburary 6, winning thanks to a seven point first quarter lead and the heroics of match MVP Mike Wallace, according to the Madden NFL video game geeks at EA Sports.
The Madden NFL 11 studio can issue its prediction confidently, having correctly called out the Super Bowl winner on six of seven occasions since starting the annual Super Bowl Simulation in 2004.
Though the simulations' scorelines aren't always on the money, the Steelers' last visit to the Super Bowl in 2009 ended in a 28-24 victory over the Arizona Cardinals - a whisker away from the prophesied 27-23.
There's still every reason for Packers fans to cheer on their team come Sunday, not least of which is rooted in the Giants' defeat of the Patriots in 2008.
At the time, EA had said that the Patriots would emerge champions after a high scoring 38-30 game, but the Giants were victorious on the day, winning with a 17-10 result.
This year, the Packers made it through to the Super Bowl as per the Madden NFL Season Simulation, but did so as sixth-seed wildcards rather than convincing conference leaders.
The Steelers then saw to a second-half demolition of EA's other hot tip, the Baltimore Rams, at the Divisional Playoffs.
