FA CARLING PREMIERSHIP

Blackburn v Everton

Shearer faces a late fitness test for Blackburn while `keeper Flowers is also doubtful after picking up an injury while training with England. Sherwood, Ripley and Wilcox are all named in a squad which also includes new signings Flitcroft and Croft. Everton will be without leading scorer Stuart, and Ebbrell, who are both injured. Parkinson, returns after suspension, and Grant is added to the squad.

Bolton v Manchester City

Bolton may give a debut to pounds 300,000 new goalkeeper, Ward, but manager Colin Todd's other new recruits, Taylor and Small, will have to wait for their chance. City manager Ball is keeping his starting line-up a secret but new pounds 1.4m Georgian striker Kavelashvili is added to the squad.

Leeds v Middlesbrough

Leeds may gamble on youth with possible debuts for teenagers Kewell, Jackson and Blunt. Gray will play, as will Brolin as Yeboah may be rested. Centre-back Vickers will miss his fifth successive Middlesbrough game after failing to recover from a knee injury. Juninho is also doubtful after playing for Brazil's Olympic side in Wednesday's 8-2 thrashing of Ghana.

QPR v Southampton

Queen's Park Rangers have added Holloway, Goodridge and goalkeeper Roberts to the 14 who drew against Chelsea last week. Saints' Le Tissier and Watson will both be missing through suspension, so Widdrington and Walters are set to play in the relegation battle. Centre-back Hall is hopeful of recovering from a calf injury and should start.

Tottenham v Coventry

Defenders Calderwood and Mabbutt will both be absent, so Campbell and Nethercott are likely to pair up at the back for Spurs. Zimbabwe international Ndlovu will start after impressing as substitute for Salako during Monday's 1-0 defeat at Southampton. Salako is likely to be on the bench, and defender Busst returns to the squad after injury.

Wimbledon v Nottm Forest

Wimbledon are hoping Holdsworth will be fit to play after an ankle injury, while Jones should start after overcoming a bout of flu. Forest youngsters McGregor and Howe could play alongside Roy as Silenzi and Campbell are both injured. Haland is also available again after suspension.

FA CUP SEMI-FINALS

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Aston Villa are hoping skipper Townsend recovers from a midweek knock he suffered playing for the Republic of Ireland. Liverpool's full-back Jones has recovered from the back injury which deprived him of the chance of England honours in midweek and efender Harkness is added to the squad.

Chelsea v Manchester Utd

Striker Hughes will be fit to face his former team-mates after shaking off a calf injury. Chelsea are without suspended full-back Petrescu. Alex Ferguson will not name his Manchester United team until full-backs Phillip Neville and Irwin have undergone late fitness tests.
