Creditors of Bjorn Borg, the five times Wimbledon champion, are losing patience. They said yesterday that he must pay up or declare personal bankruptcy. "He [Borg] claims to lack assets. I claim that this is false. This way we can investigate the matter," the attorney Bertil Sodermark said. Sodermark represents a group of creditors who have claims of 10 million kronor (pounds 1m). The claims date from Borg's involvement in a struggling company that marketed clothing under his name.
Monica Seles is optimistic that a new therapy programme she adopted four weeks ago will enable her to avoid surgery on the shoulder she injured while winning the Australian Open.
