Michael Chang produced one of his best performances ever on serve to book a place in the final of thedollars 1.7m men's tennis tournament in Cincinnati yesterday. Chang, the defending champion, beat the US qualifier David Wheaton 6-3, 6-4, with 13 aces. Wheaton, who was known for a booming serve before hip and shoulder injuries sidelined him for five months, was impressed. 'This is the best I've seen Michael serve,' he said. 'His strategy was to keep me away from the baseline, and he did it well.' Chang will meet either Stefan Edberg or Michael Stich in the final.
