Tennis: Gomez beats Borg

Andres Gomez of Ecuador outlasted Bjorn Borg of Sweden yesterday to win the ATP Senior Tour tournament in Prague. The 37-year-old South American, one of the most successful players on the seniors tour, dropped the first set to Borg, a five-times Wimbledon champion, but went on to triumph 2- 6, 6-4, 7-6.

NOTTINGHAM MEN'S OPEN Semi-finals: K Kucera (Slovak) bt T Henman (GB) 6-4 2-6 6-4; G Rusedski (GB) bt S Stolle (Aus) 6-3 6-4. Final: Rusedski bt Kucera 6-4 7-5. Doubles final: E Ferreira (SA) and P Galbraith (US) bt D Sapsford and C Wilkinson (GB) 4-6 7-6 7-6.
