A HAMBURG downpour left Greg Rusedski still awaiting his first clay-court victory of the season at the German Open, but it failed to save British team-mate Tim Henman from another early exit last night.
Playing on the main court under the retractable roof, the 12th-seeded right-hander went down 6-3, 6-3 to the Moroccan clay-court expert Hicham Arazi in the second round.
Earlier, Rusedski had been leading 3-2 on serve in the final set of his stop-start, second-round game against Spaniard Emilio Alvarez when rain again halted play on their outside court. Rusedski, the second seed, had won the first set 7-6, but then dropped the second set 6-0.
He will be hoping that he has better fortune than top seed Marcelo Rios, who failed to get beyond his opening match when he was beaten 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 by South Africa's Wayne Ferreira.
