Andy Murray has shunned the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic for his wedding with Kim Sears.

The British No 1 has opted against inviting star players from the tour, with Tim Henman perhaps the most high-profile guest understood to be attending the marriage in Dunblane on Saturday.

Whilst Murray is a popular member of the tour and close with his fellow top professionals, particularly Spaniard Nadal, the Scot has decided against inviting high-profile guests.

The likes of Sean Connery and Sir Alex Ferguson, known supporters and associates of the two-time Grand Slam winner, have also failed to receive an invite to Dunblane Cathedral.

“There won’t be any celebrities as such,” Murray said. “I don’t have any celebrity friends so it wasn’t something that was planned. [The list will be] Everyone who we’re close to, people we’ve spent a lot of time with in the past but also people we see ourselves spending time with in the future. That’s how we came up with the names. Pretty much everything is done now and under control. I’m sure a few things will come up next week but it’s pretty much sorted.”

Perhaps the most high-profile guest is Henman, the former British No 1 and multi-time Wimbledon semi-finalist who became close with Murray as the Scot rose through the ranks. Also understood to be in attendance will be Dani Vallverdu, Murray's former coach whose switch of camps to join Tomas Berdych led to some bad-blood at the Australian Open. Sears was spotted launching a foul-mouthed tirade at Berdych and his camp during the semi-final in Melbourne before poking fun at herself by wearing a 'Parental Guidance - Explicit Content' T-shirt at the final. It's understood any tension between Murray and Vallverdu has now passed.

Murray, who moved up to third in the world rankings after reaching last Sunday's Miami Open final, has also revealed invites for some of his Davis Cup team-mates. “James Ward is coming, and we invited Kyle Edmund but he can’t make it because he’s playing. Jamie Delgado will be there.”

The wedding reception will be held at the Cromlix Hotel which Murray bought and upgraded in 2013. However the precise details of the wedding appear to have been left to his long-term partner.

“Kim’s been pretty much doing it,” he said. “I’ve tried to help out when she has asked, but I haven’t been over-involved. I did all the food and cake tasting which I really enjoyed, although I didn’t think I was going to. It’s a big day for Kim. Pretty much everything is taken care of now. She seems fairly relaxed but as we get closer that might change.”
