Heather Watson continued her impressive run in Poitiers by beating third seed Alison Riske to reach the semi-finals of the second-tier ITF event. The British No 3 fought back from a set down then a break behind in the deciding set to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 against the world No 58.

Meanwhile, Marin Cilic is free to play again after the Court of Arbitration for Sport cut his ban for doping by more than half.

The Croatian was originally banned for nine months by the International Tennis Federation in September for taking the banned stimulant nikethamide. He said he had inadvertently taken the substance in glucose tablets and appealed to the CAS, who ruled the punishment had been too severe.
