The British kids fighting to follow in Wimbledon champion Andy Murray's footsteps

Murray has spoken of his desire to inspire those coming through

Kyle Edmund (aged 18, world No 406)

Made his ATP tour debut at Queen’s Club last month and beat France’s Kenny De Schepper, then the world No 82, in Eastbourne the following week. He is the current holder of two junior Grand Slam doubles titles and practised with Andy Murray last week during the latter stages of his Wimbledon run. He has also had the welcome fillip of joining up with Britain’s Davis Cup squad – he was on the bench for Britain’s historic 3-2 win over Russia in April. Has impressed everyone with his dedication and mature approach.

Oliver Golding (age 19, world No 514)

Won the US Open junior title in 2011, becoming the first Briton to do so since Murray won the title in 2004. Has had some injury problems subsequently and has been concentrating this year on developing his game by playing on clay on the Futures circuit. Has a big-hitting style that suggests he can succeed at the top.

Luke Bambridge (aged 18, world No 845)

Won the under-14 singles and doubles events at the prestigious Eddie Herr tournament in Florida four years ago. Was a member of Britain’s successful Junior Davis Cup team in 2011 and moved into the top 50 of the world junior rankings the following year, when he spent a period competing in South America. Beat Argentina’s Guido Pella, the world No 76, in Eastbourne qualifying last month.

Liam Broady (aged 19, world No 863)

Runner-up in the Wimbledon junior event two years ago, having won the junior doubles title at the All England Club a year earlier. Victory in last year’s Australian Open boys’ doubles took him to junior world No 2. Was runner-up in the US Open boys’ singles event last year and is finding his feet at senior level. Reached first semi-final on Futures circuit at end of last year.
