Andy Murray will look to end his Australian Open heartache against the world No 1 Novak Djokovic after the Briton came through a five-set thriller against Milos Raonic to progress to Sunday’s final.

Despite reaching the Australian Open final four times previously, Murray has never tasted success Down under. He suffered defeat to Roger Federer in his first appearance in the showcase match at the Rod Lever Arena in 2010, before Djokovic beat him the following year as well as 2013 and 2015.

Sunday’s encounter will be Murray’s ninth Grand Slam final appearance in total, although he has only triumphed in two of those after winning the 2012 US Open and Wimbledon in 2013, as well as Olympic gold at London 2012.

For Djokovic though, the 28-year-old Serbian will be appearing in his sixth Australian Open final, and he heads into the encounter with Murray knowing he has never lost when reaching the final match in Melbourne, having won the title in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013 and last year.

Ahead of the match, here’s everything you need to know about the Australian Open men’s singles final.

What time does it start?

The final begins on Sunday at 7.30pm in Melbourne, meaning an early start for viewers in Great Britain as the match is scheduled to get underway at 8.30am on Sunday.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 1 HD, with coverage set to begin at 8am.

Who is favourite to win?

Unsurprisingly, Djokovic is the bookmakers’ favourite, with BetVictor offering odds of 2/11 for the Serbian. Murray is a clear outsider for the final, given his previous record against the Serb at the Australian Open, although Murray can take solace from the knowledge that the last time they met in a Grand Slam final before last year’s Australian Open saw the Briton secure his first Wimbledon crown.

Novak Djokvic: 2/11

Andy Murray: 4/1
