The number of times Boris Becker has been beaten in the first round of a clay-court tournament. Yesterday's defeat in Madrid was his second successive first-round exit on clay after his failure in the Monte Carlo Open last week. He was beaten by the same player on both occasions: Franco Davin of Argentina.
