UFC 196: Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz promotional video released
‘The Money Fight’ features footage of Diaz’s expletive laden call-out to McGregor from December last year
The promotional video for Conor McGregor’s upcoming fight against Nick Diaz at UFC 196 has been released.
‘The Money Fight’ features footage of Diaz’s expletive laden call-out of ‘The Notorious’ Dublin-born fighter last year, which followed his unanimous decision victory over Michael Johnson.
Diaz took the fight on late week as a late replacement for lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, who broke his foot while preparing to take on McGregor in his native Brazil.
McGregor, who took the 145lb featherweight title from long-reigning champion Jose Aldo in December, hoped to hold 155lb title simultaneously until Dos Anjos’ injury.
Diaz, who is not a title contender, will fight McGregor at the 170lbs welterweight limit.
The war of words between the two began at last week’s press conference, where Diaz accused McGregor, and the majority of the UFC roster, of taking steroids.
Following Diaz’s allegations, UFC president Dana White responded with a statement: “The UFC unquestionably has the best drug testing program in all of sports. All done by the United States Anti-Doping Association.”
“If you are cheating, you get caught.”
UFC 196, which also features women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm’s encounter with Miesha Tate, is scheduled to take place on March 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.
