Ireland concluded their preparations for the Five Nations' Championship on a successful note in Atlanta yesterday with a 25-18 victory over the United States. But they had to be content with only one try - from wing Richard Wallace - to the Eagles' two. The Irish were restricted to penalties and substitute outside-half Paul Burke and Eric Elwood cashed in. Burke, who replaced the injured Elwood after 49 minutes, landed three from three attempts, after Elwood had kicked three penalties and converted Wallace's try.
