Worcestershire moved into second place in the Sunday League with a thrilling two-run victory against Warwickshire at New Road. The win enabled Worcestershire to leap-frog above the visitors into second place and dents Warwickshire's hopes of retaining the title.
Facing a target of 158 on a difficult, slow pitch, Warwickshire fell just short, subsiding to their first limited-overs defeat in 15 games.
Warwickshire needed eight runs off the last over but could not find the boundary as Phil Newport sealed the win by bowling Keith Piper.
Lancashire are in third, also above Warwickshire, after a 15-run win over Hampshire with Peter Martin taking 4 for 29.
