Sheffield Wednesday have offered pounds 750,000 plus their forward Guy Whittingham, and possibly at least one other player, for Birmingham City's midfielder, Jonathan Hunt.

Adrian Heath is expected to be named manager of Burnley today, in succession to Jimmy Mullen. The former Everton striker left Turf Moor three months ago to become No 2 to Howard Kendall at Sheffield United.

TRANSFER: Gary Martindale (forward) Peterborough to Notts County.

LOAN TRANSFERS: Steve Finnan (forward) Birmingham to Notts County; Paul Birch (midfielder) Wolves to Preston.
