Williams captures Welsh title

Mark Williams became the first Welshman to capture a world ranking title for seven years last night. The world No 39 was collected pounds 36,000 first prize in the final of the Regal Welsh Open at Newport when he beat John Parrott 9-3. Leading 5-2 after the first session he reeled off three more frames to build an unassailable lead.
