DENNIS BERGKAMP made England's efforts in Bologna academic, scoring two of the goals which gave the Netherlands a 3-1 victory in Poznan.
The striker supplied the Dutch, who needed only a draw to qualify for the finals at the expense of Graham Taylor's side, with an excellent start in the 10th minute when he rifled home a right-foot volley. His second, in the 56th minute, was a sliding effort from close range. Ronald de Boer then sealed the victory two minutes from time, shooting home from just inside the penalty area.
Marek Lesniak scored Poland's goal two minutes after Bergkamp's opener when he lobbed the keeper following a mistake by Ronald Koeman.
