Apple will launch two entirely new, huge products in coming years, says expert analyst

Glasses and a vehicle will help Apple reach its next milestone, report claims

Apple could launch two major new products in the coming years, according to an expert report.

Together, the categories could help propel Apple to be the first two-trillion-dollar company, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote. Apple broke through the one-trillion-dollar market cap record last week.

First will come Apple's attempt at augmented reality glasses, according to the report highlighted by Macrumors. Apple has already been hard at work on augmented reality features – for now, just living inside of its iPhone – but multiple reports have suggested that it could launch augmented reality glasses to highlight it.

The glasses are said to have a small display and processor inside of them, allowing people to see the real world but also have graphics and information projected onto it.

They are said to be prepared for around 2020, meaning that the first firm rumours of them could arrive in the wild very soon.

Then a couple of years later will come an electric vehicle, according to the same report. Apple has also long been rumoured to be working on such a vehicle – though it has also been hit by various problems and delays.

Apple has said to have moved between the idea of making an entire vehicle itself, or creating just the information unit to sit inside of cars made by other companies. The new report suggests that it is looking to create the entire thing, under the rumoured name of Project Titan.

Both products are long-rumoured but entirely unconfirmed. Apple has netiher confirmed or denied that it is working on either a car or glasses, though it has offered intriguing hints that it is.

Tim Cook told The Independent last year that the technology for augmented reality glasses is not yet ready – but did not deny that the company would release them when it was.

“There are rumours and stuff about companies working on those – we obviously don’t talk about what we’re working on,” he said then. "“But today I can tell you the technology itself doesn’t exist to do that in a quality way. The display technology required, as well as putting enough stuff around your face – there’s huge challenges with that."
