A French company using 3D printing techniques to create human bone substitutes will be among the hundreds of exhibitors showcasing technology solutions during the tenth anniversary of CeBIT Australia.

The Australian edition of the world’s largest digital IT and telecommunications event will feature over 2,000 technology solutions from more than 600 exhibitors plus a large display of high-tech inventions and IT solutions from Germany, this year’s CeBIT Australia Partner Country.

Germany has been selected as the inaugural Partner Country for CeBIT Australia, following in the footsteps of the successful partner country program developed by parent company Deutsche Messe for CeBIT in Hannover.

"We are very proud to welcome Germany as our first country partner," said Jackie Taranto, managing director of CeBIT Australia.

"The German government made a significant investment into this country over ten years ago when it made the decision to bring CeBIT to Australia, and we are extremely pleased to have its continuing support."

CeBIT Australia is hailed as the country's largest ICT exhibition, however, it is only around a 10th of the size of CeBIT in Hannover.

The event’s smaller size makes it no less interesting, especially for locals who travel to the event to see cutting-edge technologies in the fields of cloud computing, tablet PC, smart phones, ecommerce, eHealth and unified communications, plus the more than 100 global thought-leaders taking part in the CeBIT Global Conference program.

High-tech innovations that explore the use of advanced ceramics for made-to-measure bone implants from French company 3D Ceram will be on display as will a servo-pneumatic robotic hand with 11 degrees of freedom made by the Institute of Fluid Power Transmission and Control (IFAS) at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany.

AusInnovate NBN, eHealth, eGovernment, Cloud Computing and WebForward will run concurrently to CeBIT Australia.

The tenth edition of CeBIT Australia will take place from May 31 to June 2 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia.
