Current Twitter trends: Vargas Llosa, Johnny Depp, Nobel prize

The most talked about topic on Twitter on the morning of October 8 is the name of Peruvian writer Mario "Vargas Llosa."

Vargas Llosa was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature and people are using Twitter to tweet about the outspoken novelist. "Nobel" is also in the charts in tenth place.

In second place is the meme "#in10years." Tweets with the hashtag "in10years" read: "Phones will be surgically implanted into you when your a baby [sic]," "I will be living the life I've always dreamed about.. career, husband, kid(s), dream home," "People will be sayin' Remember when there was Twitter?" and "Twitter and Facebook will no longer exist and your life will have no meaning."

"#newtwitter" and "#withoutmy" take third and fourth places while the name of American baseball player Tim "Lincecum" is new in fifth place.

A surprise visit to a London school by American actor Johnny Depp and other Pirates of the Caribbean cast members has Twitter buzzing with posts. "Johnny Depp" is trending in seventh place.

Basketball video game " 2k11" moves up one place to number six and the Dutch words for good morning ("Goedemorgen") and English ("Engels") make it back into the charts in eighth and ninth places.
