Elon Musk has responded after rapper Azealia Banks made a series of lurid claims about him.

The Tesla founder was tweeting while on drugs and may have invited the musician to his house to have sex with him and his girlfriend Grimes, she suggested.

But Mr Musk told Gizmodo he had has “never even met [Banks] or communicated with her in any way”.

It comes after the US musician let loose on her Instagram about a bizarre weekend she apparently spent at the entrepreneur’s home.

Banks said she was at there to record a track for her new album with singer Grimes, who is Musk’s girlfriend.

“I waited all weekend while grimes coddled her boyfriend for being too stupid to know not to go on twitter while on acid,” Banks posted on Instagram. “It was probably some weird threesome sex shit to being with.”

A Tesla spokesman said the claims were “complete nonsense".

Mr Musk's Twitter has become the site of a host of controversial posts in recent weeks. The latest controversy came after Mr Musk suggested that he could take Tesla private, and that he had secured funding to do so – a tweet that received criticism from shareholders, potential investigations by regulators and questions after it emerged that the funding might not actually have been secured at all.
