Google has launched a web store that integrates with its Chrome web browser, and spearheading its Games section are titles such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online, Farmville, and Plants vs Zombies.

Electronic Arts' games feature prominently, with not only Tiger Woods but also versions of Madden NFL and FIFA Superstars previously seen on Facebook, all of which are part of their Play4Free brand.

Also available are Jagex's War of Legends and RuneScape, Millionaire City and MMA Pro Fighter from Digital Chocolate, as well as PBS's educational PBS Kids Play! and more traditional pursuits such as solitaire, chess, and the Scrabble-esque Wordico.

Many of the titles are free, with the option to buy perks and items in-game, though some such as Wordico command a small fee from the get-go.

The Chrome Web Store is for now available to US residents, with plans to expand to other countries early in 2011.

Adding a web app store to its arsenal bolsters Google's ability to take on Apple, which has its own established mobile phone brand, home computers, web browser, and operating system.
