High-tech product releases announced the week ending December 22 include a device that lets you access information on your computer from almost any computer in the world, a set of high performance speakers for audiophiles, the world's first dual-core smartphone, a portable document scanner, and a messaging phone for music lovers.

A wireless dual USB drive that lets you securely share data
iTwin's plug'n'play devices let users securely share information between two computers. The USB-like devices plug into two separate computers and enable users to keep their information securely stored on one whilst accessing it from another using 256-bit AES encryption. A limited edition of 50 MMX iTwins are available for purchase online from http://www.iTwin.com now for $99. General availability will follow in January 2011.

Luxury high-performance speakers for audiophiles with money to burn
Contemporary loud speaker designer Magico has crafted a 5 driver, 3-way floorstanding speaker with a sensitivity of 90dB. The beautifully designed Q3 speakers are essentially a scaled down version of the the company's award-winning Q5 speakers. The Q3's will first be on show at CES before shipping in Spring 2011. A pair of Magico Q3 speakers will set you back a cool $34,000.

World's first dual-core smartphone
The LG Optimus 2X is the first smartphone to have a dual-core Tegra 2 processor at its heart. For consumers, a high performance processor like the Tegra 2 means faster, smoother web browsing, better handling of power-hungry applications and multitasking with virtually no screen lag. Along with the dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz processor the LG Optimus 2X offers 1080p HD video playback and recording, full quality HDMI mirroring, 8GB of memory, a 4 inch WVGA screen, rear (8MP) and front-facing (1.3MP) cameras and wireless connectivity with any DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible digital device. The LG Optimus 2X will be available in Korea in January 2011 with Europe and Asia to follow shortly. No prices have been revealed.

A portable document and photo scanner
DocuScan is a compact scanner that lets you digitize photos, documents, and magazine pages up to A4. The all in one scanner is small enough to take with you and lets you archive your precious printed material in 300 dpi. You can zoom in on and preview documents using the built in 2.4 inch color screen and copy the files directly onto any SD card for computer-free scanning. The DocuScan is available now for £149.99 (€177) from www.firebox.com.

A mobile built around a wireless music platform
The Samsung Suede (SCH-r710) will be the first device to come equipped with "a music experience designed specifically for the mobile phone." It comes bundled with the Cricket Muve Music service (for a cost of $55 per month) and offers unlimited access to millions of songs, ringtones and ringback tones plus unlimited access to voice, Web, text, and video. The device has a 3 inch touchscreen display, 3MP camera, dedicated Muve Music button and customizable widgets for instant access to social networks. The Samsung Suede is priced at $199 and will arrive in stores in January 2011.
