Apple is planning to launch the next iPhone in early September, according to reports, before actually releasing it around a week and a half after that.

The company plans to hold the event in the week of September 7, according to a BuzzFeed report that cites sources closes to Apple. The site said that the likely date is Wednesday the 9th, but it’s possible that it could actually take place the day before.

Apple’s recent iPhone events have taken place on Tuesdays the same week, and so the event may actually happen on the 8th.

The company tends to hold its iPhone launch events in early September, and then release them on the Friday of the following week. All of the iPhone’s since the 4S have been released to the public within a day of September 20, and on that schedule the release of the next iPhone would come on September 18.

At the event, Apple is expected to release the iPhone 6S — which will have a pressure-sensing display as its headline feature, but is expected to pack in plenty of other features too. Since Apple is on the “S” part of its cycle, the phone will mostly see its internal parts improved rather than undergoing a complete redesign.

Last week, an analyst said that production of the phones had been delayed, but that they were still expected to be shipped on the same schedule.

But the company will also release the new Apple TV, which was expected in June but didn’t arrive, according to rumours. It’s not known whether the company will release its Netflix-challenging TV service at the same time, or just unveil the hardware.

The company might also show off new iPads — which tend to get a separate event of their own in October — as well as the long-rumoured, much bigger iPad Pro.
