Ambitious cyberpunk shooter E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy gets the jump on Deus Ex: Human Revolution, released as it was on July 29 to become the one new game in these charts for the week ending August 1.

E.Y.E displays its influences prominently and proudly: the cyberpunk conspiracies of Deus Ex and Syndicate, Doom's monster design, the role-playing of Fallout or Stalker, and Space Hulk's armor and armory, to name a few.

The developers - small French team Streum On Studio - also cite films like Total Recall, The Running Man, Blade Runner, Akira, and the Ghost in the Shell series.

E.Y.E reached second place on Steam's chart, with classic role-play adventure Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines climbing to fourth in a sale promo.

Those who did pick up Bloodlines are heartily recommended to update it for modern machines with one of the excellent, unofficial, fan-made patches at patches-scrolls.de.
