PC video game deals for July 30 - August 1 and beyond: 'Just Cause 2', Kalypso classics

For all those that haven't tried out Just Cause 2's paradise island playpen of mayhem, Steam has sliced its price by 50 percent. Both Steam and Impulse have the upcoming Guild II: Renaissance expansion on offer. Impulse supplements it with discounts on other Guild II titles as well as deals on Flock! and Gratuitous Space Battles. Good Old Games has the Tropico and Commandos series among 14 other Kalypso titles in their own half price sale, while GamersGate promotes point & click adventures.

Many of those adventure games are considered true gems, such as Broken Sword, Tales of Monkey Island, and Sam & Max series along with Ceville.

The spooking survival game Penumbra and its sequel Penumbra: Black Plague were on offer last week, and to follow up Direct2Drive and GamersGate are squeezing their profit margins on Amnesia, the next game from the same developers.
