Three of the most recent Prince of Persia games will be following in the footsteps of PS2 series companions God of War and Sly Cooper, with a remastered Prince of Persia Trilogy now confirmed for PlayStation 3 this November.

Following high definition remakes of PlayStation 2 games of God of War I & II, and the upcoming Sly Collection, Ubisoft is also joining in the remastering fun with the three games that make up the Sands of Time trilogy, the first of which went on to inspire the 2010 film starring Jake Gyllenhall Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

The collection will include 2003's The Sands of Time, 2004's Warrior Within, and 2005's The Two Thrones, and is currently billed for release in European and PAL regions on November 18 at €39.

The success of the 1989 original action puzzler Prince of Persia ensured that its lead designer, Jordan Mechner, became an industry legend. It was released for Amiga, Atari, Apple, Amstrad, Spectrum and DOS home computers as well as later on Nintendo and Sega consoles and, in recent years, on the iPhone and as digital downloads for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Games comprising the Prince of Persia trilogy were also brought out on PC, Xbox and GameCube - the Xbox Sands of Time runs on Xbox 360 (though its unlockable original games don't), and all three GameCube games run on the Wii. The PS2 games can also run on some of the earliest PlayStation 3 models.
