Last month, we reported on rumblings of a Red Dead Redemption 2, along with an HD remake of the original.

The game is now looking closer to becoming a reality, with what is purportedly the map for it leaking online.

It was first posted (before being swiftly removed) on NeoGaf, with TechRadar claiming to have confirmed its legitimacy with a source working on the development of the game.

If real, it’s pretty vast, the Great Plains area from the original (which contained Blackwater) taking up a tiny portion of the playable world.

The image seems to be a grab from the production process, given the lack of burnt edges, whiskey stains etc you would expect from the finished article.

There isn’t much detail on locations within the map either, though the legend does tease caravan camps and railroads. There appears to be mountain and marsh areas too, and a New Bordeaux - presumably doubling for New Orleans.

The map is “very recent” according to Tech Radar’s source, which also claimed the game will be a prequel - suggesting John Marston could be back.

Rumour has it, the Red Dead sequel/prequel will be announced at E3 in June.
